During her time as First Lady, Michelle Obama was far too busy taking lavish vacations on American taxpayers’ dimes. In just six months, Melania Trump has already shown that she is a far different First Lady than her predecessor.
Western Journalism reported that Melania just announced that she will make her first foreign trip as First Lady this fall. The White House announced that she will lead the U.S. delegation to this year’s Invictus Games, which will be held in Toronto from Sept. 23 through Sept. 30. These games are open to men and women who were part of their nations’ armed forces and were injured in combat.
During the Invictus Games, 550 men and women from 17 nations competing in para-Olympic style activities, such as swimming, cycling, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby.

“In just two short years, the Invictus Games have allowed thousands of injured and wounded servicemen and women from many different countries to participate in adaptive sports competitions — something that should be lauded and supported worldwide. I am honored by the opportunity to represent our country at this year’s games,” Melania Trump said. “I was heartened by the great success of the inaugural Invictus Games that took place in London in 2015, and the second games in Orlando, Florida, last year.”
Melania is making her first solo trip as First Lady much faster than Michelle did. Though Michelle’s came 15 months into her First Lady tenure, Melania’s will be coming less than a year into hers.
We’re glad to see that unlike Michelle, Melania is using her position to do something good for military veterans!
