Whenever a conservative hears something from one of the scions of the Democrat Party, they think, “Hmm. Same old idea. Where have I heard that one before?”
It’s typically the usual suspects: Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, John Maynard Keynes, Karl Marx. You know, the classics. However, a Papa John’s advertisement? Not so much. Not, at least, until Thursday.
That’s when the Democrats revealed their new slogan. No, it’s not the “Have you seen the other guys?” one. As it turns out, it’s just as laugh-worthy.
According to Twitchy, in a now-deleted tweet, Vox’s Jeff Stein reported that “A member of Congress told me Democrats big 2018 slogan, which is set to be released Monday. It’s: ‘Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages.’”
It didn’t take long for the internet to realize this was very similar to “Better Ingredients, Better Pizza, Papa John’s,” which meant it didn’t take long for Stein, a reporter for a publication that has become the Democrat Party’s de facto mouthpiece on social media, to delete the leaked slogan and insist that he was actually the one who got it wrong:
I shouldve corrected this immediately; I've deleted original tweet. Full slogan is "A Better Deal: Better Skills, Better Jobs, Better Wages"
— Jeff Stein (@JStein_Vox) July 20, 2017
Oh, that’s a lot better. Literally. Not being sarcastic here.
Look, I suppose there’s the possibility Mr. Stein got this wrong, but this is Vox, which means they pretty much eat what the DNC feeds them and defecate it verbatim. I’m just surprised that they didn’t run a story called “34 Times Bigoted Cisgender Privileged Twitter Users Said the New Democrat Slogan Was a Ripoff of Papa John’s Because They’re Secretly Transgender and Can’t Handle It.”
Because Twitter users did totally note that the new Democrat slogan was a ripoff of Papa John’s (WARNING: Some rough language ahead. Reader discretion is advised):
I knew the new democrat slogan sounded familiar. pic.twitter.com/1bss5wn5U5

Papa John's should truly be upset. Democrats have no credibility and will pull down PJ's profits. Take em to court. RT https://t.co/y1vgJL6TeO

And some just noted that it was stupid:
YES KEEP DOING THIS DEMOCRATS NEVER STOP https://t.co/XQrEq1WpWi

Which it is. If the prelude to the new slogan actually exists (or existed before people called out the Papa John’s-ness of the original bromide) the “better deal” they’re proposing is the same deal they’ve given us for years: Obamacare, welfare, debt, shipping jobs overseas, costly energy restrictions, and all that jazz.
Their “better deal” involves mating it with a Papa John’s slogan. All the rest is nothing more than a shoddy repackaging job. Good luck pitching that suite of policies, no matter what company they rip off their slogan from.
