Postal Service Caught in A Sick Plan To Destroy Trump.

How far would federal employees go to destroy Donald Trump’s campaign? Far enough to illegally give their employees time off of work to campaign for Hillary Clinton, testimony before the Senate on Wednesday revealed.

Investigators from the Postal Service’s Office of Special Counsel and inspector general told the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee that the Postal Service violated the law by pressuring managers to give letter carriers time off of work in the final months of the 2016 election campaign to help support union-backed Democrats — including, most importantly, Democrat standard-bearer Hillary Clinton.

According to The Washington Post, investigators also said there had been an “institutional bias” for years in giving postal employees time off to campaign for candidates backed by the National Association of Letter Carriers. That’s one of the largest unions for Post Office employees, and — surprise, surprise — most of those candidates were Democrats.

That’s a violation of the Hatch Act, which explicitly states government employees cannot use their position to work for or against a candidate.

“The culture and practice was, ‘It’s mandatory, it’s the directive’” to approve time off for campaigning, according to Adam Miles, acting director of the Post Office’s Office of Special Counsel.

“Federal employees, including postal workers, are allowed to use their time off to campaign or donate to political candidates,” The Post noted. “But by directing that time off be granted even over the objections of local post office managers who said they would be understaffed, the Postal Service showed a workplace bias toward Clinton and other Democrats endorsed by the union, Miles said.”

According to Fox News, postal employees would spend this time off campaigning — including going door-to-door and manning phone banks — in key battleground states. In fact, 82 percent of the campaigning happened in just six states: Florida, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Employees who took time off to campaign would also be reimbursed for their time by the union.

I suppose this shouldn’t come as a shock to any of us. Federal employees, no matter how frivolous their sinecure may be, still believe they have a God-given right to draw their salary from the American taxpayer. Republicans don’t like that. Ergo, Republicans — including Donald Trump — must lose. And if it takes violations of the Hatch Act to effect that, so be it.

This needs to be fixed, and it needs to be fixed now.
