James Comey had his testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and ‘shocking’ is the least we can say for the event. Democrats cheered to Comey’s testimony, but karma did its job, and now they can only hope that President Trump doesn’t put them behind bars. Comey himself is not in a big trouble, as President Trump is ready to file a leak complaint against him.
Mark Kasowitz, the President’s lawyer will now file a leak complaint against the former FBI Director. This information filled headlines after Comey finished his testimony.
The President’s outside counsel will work on a leak complaint associated with Comey’s leaked memos with the Department of Justice. The information was confirmed by a source familiar with the activities of the outside legal team.
The leak complaint includes the DOJ’s Inspector General and the Senate Judiciary Committee. comey told the Senate that he gave green light to a personal friend to release the unclassified memos of his convoes with the President. The information got in the hands of news outlets with the only goal to initiate an appointment of a special council.
I asked a friend of mine to share the content of a memo with the reporter. I didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons, but I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel,” Comey told the Senate.
Are you already guessing who this friend might be? It’s the Columbia Law Professor Dan Richman, and the information was confirmed by Richman’s friends.
Kasowitz said that Comey is “one of the leakers” who are “actively attempting to undermine the President.”
This is getting bigger than we thought. We can only imagine the further development of events.
What do you think about this information? How will the leak complaint develop? Is Comey in big trouble?
